Backstage Saturday Series - June 11

We have family in town this weekend, so I'll keep this week's Backstage Saturday short and sweet!

I had a few special orders this week, including a Apron Peasant Dress made in the Carnival Ride Collection.  It is just adorable!  So fun and bright, I love it!

Also a customer wanted Haute Couture Knot Dresses for her daughters but she wanted the switch fabrics around a bit so that the girls coordinated but weren't "matchy matchy".  They turned out fab!

A peek at some new hair accessories!  New colors are up on my site in the Old Hollywood Feather Headbands, and a new size Mini Top Hat - Fair Lady Petitie Top Hats!  So sweet and perfect for newborns.  Will be listed soon on my site.

Backstage Saturday Series - June 4

It was a busy week as usual here at Charming Necessities!

Not only did I have a lot of sewing to do, I had a bunch of hair accessories and mini top hats to make!

I forgot to take pictures of most things - including a super sweet Knot Dress and Ruffle Pants set in Pretty Pretty Princess. 

I worked on a bunch of Vintage Beauty Sunsuits - and I have 6 more to cut out and make today.  EEK!

I posted these on Facebook - but I had to share again.  How FAB are these colors for summer?!  The skirt on the left is from the Feelin Groovy collection - and the skirt on the right is new, from the Carnival Ride collection.

A customer requested the basic peasant top in these colors for her daughter.  What is it about peasant tops?  Even in a solid color they are just so sweet and girly!

Also a customer request - Ruffle Pants in the Haute Couture Collection.  These will be available on my site soon!

Some mini top hats ready to be put on headbands!  Pink is by far the best seller.

And I just have to share a few amazing pictures I have gotten for Charming Couture {women's accessories} and some new girl's mini top hats, fascinators, and feather headbands.

I am so blessed to work with so many amazingly talented photographers! I want to be like them when I grow up!

Backstage Saturday is back!



Welcome to Backstage Saturday!  A behind the scenes peek at Charming Necessities!

I haven't posted for Backstage Saturday for a while (sorry!), between holiday weekends and generally being busy I haven't had the chance!

But, no worries, Backstage Saturday is back.  For those who are visiting for the first time, this is where I post about what I worked on during the week, including pictures of products in production, some new sneak peeks, and general behind the scenes fun!  You can see previous Backstage Saturday posts here.

Mini Top Hats in production - this picture is from a couple weeks ago - but I have been steadily filling orders for these!

A lot of feather headbands and flower headbands went out this past week as well!

This picture is from last week - I made new color combinations in A Touch of Royalty Fascintors, and also worked on some goodies for my Charming Couture line designed specifically for Women!

I had some orders for clothing from the Haute Couture Collection - this collection has really been a popular one!

Backstage Saturday Series - Week 2

Welcome to Backstage Saturday - week 2!  Whew.  What. a. week.  Lots of sunsuits, dresses and hair accessories went out this week!

This is from the beginning of the week: 7 pillowcase dresses, 3 ruffle pants, 1 peasant dress, 1 pouf neck peasant dress, 3 knot dresses, 4 sunsuits, and 2 diaper covers cut out and ready to be sewn.

There were a bunch of orders for the Yesterday Collection, and I just love the fabrics, how sweet are these?

I also had some orders for the Carnival Ride Collection, I love the bright summery colors from this line.

Lots and lots of straps for sunsuits and knot dresses, and ruffles:

Backstage Saturday Series - Week 1

Welcome to a sneak peek behind the scenes here at Charming Necessities!  It was a very busy week here - and while I worked I snapped a few pictures.

I made lots, and lots of Vintage Beauty Sunsuits.  This pile doesn't look like much - but will end up looking like this:

A few finished knot dresses and ruffle pants:

I also made a newborn pillowcase dress and ruffled diaper cover in the Parisian Rose collection - I had to take a picture, it was so tiny and adorable!

A customer requested an Apron Peasant Dress in the Springtime in Paris collection, and it turned out so pretty!  I hope to list this dress on my site this weekend.

My ironing board with a few pieces in the works.  Usually the stacks of things to make are much higher than this.  :)  The stack to the right is Feeling Groovy (coming soon).

I talk about my twin girls a lot - but I also have two sweet boys.  :)  They don't get very excited about my dresses and hair accessories.  LOL

I have a few new hair accessories coming soon, including the Old Hollywood Feather Headband.  These are stunning curly najorie feathers on a double ruffle elastic headband with a large rhinestone encrusted pearl embellishment.  LOVE!

Don't freak out......
